Create a live event and start streaming with ZOOM

How to set up a live event, and start streaming with Zoom

  1. Creating Live Event

    1. Click the +New button in the top right corner and choose Live Event from the list. This will redirect you to Create Live Event page where you will be able to choose between the different options:

      • Stream with Stream Sage
        • Broadcast Live Event (streaming with RTMP software like OBS, Zoom, Larix)
      • Third-Party Providers
        • YouTube Live
        • Vimeo Live
    2. After choosing your way of streaming, fill in the event information: video title, description, schedule date, and age restrictions, also feel free to upload the cover image. When setup is done, click Create.
  2. Live event with ZOOM

    1. Before you start, ensure that live streaming within your Zoom profile is enabled. We recommend using the Zoom manual available here.
    2. Schedule a meeting in Zoom (website) and click Save. Go to the Live Streaming tab at the bottom and configure Custom Streaming Services.
    3. Copy Stream RTMP and Stream Key from the platform, and place them in Zoom settings, we also recommend adding a stream link which you can find in the Share tab on the platform. When it is all set click Save. 
    4. To run your Live event start the Zoom meeting as the host.
    5. Click the More button in the host controls.
    6. ​​Choose Live on Custom Live Stream Service. The browser will open a window that shows the progress as Zoom prepares the live stream.
    7. Under the Resolution, we recommend selecting Full HD (1080P). 
    8. When broadcasting is Status: Connected the only thing you need to do to start streaming is Start Event in the platform’s top right corner. Congratulations you’re live! :)
  3. Ending and sharing the event with viewers

As soon as you're done with your event you simply:

    1. Click Stop Event and confirm it.
    2. Decide if you want the video to be visible to your viewers or not.
      • Publish Event if you want people to see it.
      • Click No if you don’t want to publish the event yet. You can always Publish / Unpublish the video later on.
    1. To share the published event with your viewers, you have to visit the Live Video you want to share, visit the Share tab, and copy the link for sharing the video.
